DOBSON – Lory Puckett knows that if she could do it, so can others.

Puckett, a nursing instructor at Surry Community College, is very literally a master of her craft.  She has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner.

But it all started with an associate degree at Surry Community College, she says in the accompanying video.

“I began here at Surry,” Puckett says.  “My community is here at Surry.  I’m the first in my immediate family to go to college; my mom probably has about a third-grade literacy level.

“So I wanted to be here because I wanted to inspire other people in this community to do what I have done.”
