Engineers. Computer scientists. High-tech agriculture. Energy. Because it is an “applied” university, NC State helps fuel today’s North Carolina economy, Chancellor Randy Woodson says in the accompanying video.
“Our students get jobs. They get meaningful jobs. And it translates into value to the economy,” Woodson says.
In fact, NC State pumps $6.5 billion a year into North Carolina’s economy – and it does so across all 100 counties.
Spinoff companies from the University – including familiar names like SAS and Cree – account for $1.2 billion of that economic impact, Woodson says.
